Fashion-Tech Info Day – London

THIS EVENT HAS NOW PASSED

On Thursday 5th December 2019, London College of Fashion, University of Arts London will be hosting Fashion-Tech Info Day – London. This will be a day filled with notable keynote speakers and intimate roundtable discussions on the latest issues impacting the fashion-tech industry.

Who Should Attend
The Info Days are open to anyone interested in learning and engaging with the fashion-tech sector. We encourage start-ups, SMEs, as well as fashion and technology professionals to join and contribute to the discussions. Accelerators, hubs and clusters would also benefit from attending and networking at the event.

Attendees are responsible for booking their own accommodation.

Nick Almond is the Associate Dean Teaching, Learning and Enhancement at LCF. He has a background in the sciences, completing a PhD in Biophysics at Liverpool University in 2008. Since leaving research science he has lectured in astrophysics, mathematics and education spending over ten years researching how people learn, specialising in how to use technology to support learning and innovation. His research focuses on emerging technology, complexity theory and curriculum, with a keen interest in how blockchain technology can help us organise and collaborate at scale. He is the Better Lives unit leader and is responsible for its curriculum design and student experience.

Sabinna Rachimova graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Before launching her eponymous label, she worked for the leading Parisian Fashion house Christian Dior and London brand Mary Katrantzou. Known for her signature handcraft, silhouettes and strong colour palettes, Sabinna has an innovative take on selling strategies and direct communication with her customer, keeping the focus on being a storyteller for women. She is also a public speaker, spreading the word about both FashTech and sustainable fashion. In 2018, she collaborated on an EU funded project with the innovation agency BRIA UK to transform end-of-life garments into new 100% recyclable and biodegradable materials. Sabinna also works as a fashion design consultant for international brands such as Sandqvist and Sony. Since 2018, Sabinna is also a lecturer at the University of Arts London, teaching on the MA Fashion Entrepreneurship & Innovation course. In 2019, Sabinna was named one of Forbes 30under30 DACH.

Thierry has 20+ years of experience in the communications and entertainment industries. After graduating in Paris he worked in London as a business consultant for entertainment companies and telecom operators, then in France and Germany in business development for Vivendi, and then for ARTE – the Franco-German TV station – in Strasbourg. Thierry then completed an MBA at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy and at UCLA in Los Angeles, where he specialized in film financing and e-commerce. In 2012, he graduated from the European Executive Programme of the Ecole National d’Administration (ENA) in France. For Media Deals, Thierry is in charge of developing the investment network across Europe and managing the network’s Investment Forums, which regularly bring mediatech companies and investors together for pitching sessions. With regard to this, he supports the network’s investors in identifying investment opportunities and in carrying out due diligence with a focus on cross-border transactions and exit strategies. He was also the project director of Media Deals’ EU project ImMediaTe, which examined financial mechanisms for digital media between five European clusters (Barcelona, Rome, Malta, Paris, and Amsterdam) and is now the director of the new DG Connect project European Investor Gate (EIG). Thierry has also been developing different creative industries funds for the film, music, and video games sectors. He is a regular speaker at conferences and summits on content and technology as well as an expert for the European Commission on regulations for investment in the digital sector.

For the last 13 years Yannis and his production company NOMINT has produced, developed, designed and directed global campaigns for some of the biggest brands in the world, including Google, Coca-Cola, Nestle and more. In 2018 Yannis founded SUPERPERSONAL an AI company that builds state-of-the-art technology, enable unprecedented personalised experiences for fashion customers. SUPERPERSONAL was recently named one of Creative Industries Council's 50 UK businesses at the forefront of creativity and technology. Yannis studied architecture at UCL and graduated with a distinction in Time Based Arts from Central Saint Martins.
